DTU Data Analysis
DTU Data Analysis is an interdisciplinary unit dedicated to supporting other DTU departments and external partners within software, statistics and data analysis.

To provide easy access to multidisciplinary and applicable knowledge and research, we also facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration between external partners and DTU’s many scientific research fields.
Core competences
- Support and consultancy within statistics, pattern recognition, data and image analysis and software development
- Public-sector consultancy
- Supporting and facilitating collaboration between DTU departments
- Project management of multi-disciplinary projects involving several DTU departments
Collaboration with other DTU partners
DTU Data Analysis collaborates with a wide range of scientific areas and departments at DTU.
We can help you develop specific software for your research, maximise the potential of your data or help you plan your experiments in an optimal manner.
Ways of collaborating with us
DTU Data Analysis collaborates both project by project and on a long-term consultancy basis. As a researcher you are always welcome to contact us about your project.
Collaboration between DTU Data Analysis and entire departments or sections is also possible. Interdisciplinary competences can often be helpful when dealing with statistics or software development as a supportive mean for general research. Placing a statistical or software-oriented member of staff in the DTU Data Analysis unit may help the person further develop his or her competences in an environment which is close to his or her scientific area - still benefitting from the knowledge of the research areas from his or her original department.
Collaboration with public sector and industry
DTU Data Analysis offers research-based consultancy within a broad range of scientific areas. The consultancy is independent as the department does not have any commercial obligations.
We offer consultancy within DTU Compute’s research fields, but our core competences are:
- Statistics
- Image analysis and pattern recognition
- Design of experiments
- Software and web development
- Handling of big data
Project management
Furthermore, we conduct project management of large projects involving several DTU departments.
Our experienced researchers always carry out the consultancy work. But we also involve the students in our projects to help develop their engineering competences. However, the process is always managed and supervised by our scientific staff.
