DTU, the Danish Defence Intelligence Service, and the Danish Industry Foundation in a unique collaboration on defense technologies

Denmark's technological preparedness must be strengthened, and companies and research must contribute to this. Therefore, a new, cross-cutting collaboration is being established.

FACT BOX

National development and innovation initiative based on operational needs from the Danish Defence Intelligence Service and research and innovation capacity from DTU in collaboration with Danish companies.

Project period: 2026–2027

Parties:

  • The Danish Defence Intelligence Service (FE)
  • DTU (Technical University of Denmark)
  • The Danish Industry Foundation

Content:

  • Screening of research projects and companies
  • Development and testing of technologies in targeted proof-of-concept processes
  • Maturation of technologies for either spinout, license, or dual-use application

Purpose:

  • To develop and test a model in which needs from the intelligence sector are translated into technological solutions through close cooperation among authorities, researchers, and companies
  • Selection of several technological cases for testing and validation, and establishment of a scalable collaboration model for innovation within the defense and intelligence areas
