Study start provided new energy on campus

On Friday20 August 2.367 new students filled DTU’s campuses with dance and laughter. After a year with corona, many found it liberating to be able to start the new year – almost under normal circumstances.

Impressive intake to DTU’s 36 study programmes again this year. A total of 2,386 new students have today been told that they can start their studies in September.

7,402 have applied to DTU

As expected, the number of quota 1 applications to DTU has fallen from the exceptionally high level of 8,376 in 2020 to 7,402 this year. However, it is satisfying to see a 5 per cent increase in first priority applications for DTU’s BEng programmes.

Roskilde Festival and DTU award sustainability prize

For the first time, DTU and Roskilde Festival have awarded a joint prize to young research talents who contribute to sustainable change in society.

The photo is from DynSys' summer school in August 2019 (before the Covid-19 crises), where 44 young researchers got hands-on experience with statistical modelling techniques for smart energy systems and intelligent energy savings, including calculating solar energy gain in buildings.

The UN's Sustainable Development Goals can benefit from a significant change in summer schools

Last year, the pandemic changed several of the traditional summer schools to online courses. The reorganization supports DTU's goal of promoting the UN's SDG. And now DTU is evaluating the experiences.
