The aim of the project is to see inside a closed mould used for casting wind turbine blades.
However, it is not possible to mount a camera inside the mould to visually observe casting process. This means that sensor system should be developed to make it possible to observe what is happening inside the mould without having actual visibility. Furthermore, even though a mould might more than 75 meters long and 10 meters wide, the amount of sensors has to be limited to avoid unnecessary risk of leakages in the mould. Such a sensor system used together with knowledge of the physical properties of the process happening inside the mould will then provide the information necessary to estimate the necessary visibility inside the mould.
