Facts

  • The InterMat project was launched in 2014 at Birkerød Gymnasium to bridge the gap between high school and higher education. The aim was to help students get off to a good start with mathematical content that is common to several different universities.
  • Since 2014, the initiative has expanded, with Birkerød Gymnasium as the main coordinator, and since 2019, DTU/Matematicum has taken over the overall organisation of InterMat in collaboration with the participating schools.
  • A brand-new continuing education programme for high school teachers (InterMat 2.0: Mathematics and Computational Thinking) will run throughout the autumn of 2025.
