We are looking for an assistant/associate professor to extend and complement the cryptology research and teaching of the Cyber Security Section at DTU Compute. The position is available from 1 August 2021 or according to mutual agreement.

The faculty of the section currently consists of one professor and one assistant professor conducting research in cryptology and two associate professors conducting research in IT security.

The assistant professor position is part of DTU’s Tenure Track program. We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment. Responsibilities and qualifications
Research areas that we are particularly interested in for this position but not necessarily limited to:

  • Symmetric-key cryptology, design and cryptanalysis
  • Cryptographic hash functions, design and cryptanalysis
  • Post-quantum cryptology 
  • Lightweight and resource-efficient cryptology
  • Side-channel cryptanalysis and secure implementations

Candidates with strong expertise in other areas of cryptology are also encouraged to apply. 

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. You will be expected to learn Danish and be able to teach in Danish after 3 years. DTU can provide Danish language courses.

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). If you are applying for the associate professor position you should also have academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The salary for the position will be determined by the applicant’s qualifications and in agreement with the relevant union.
