The Lundbeck Foundation has awarded a total of DKK 70 million to 24 researchers. The grants support outstanding young researchers who are pursuing projects of high academic quality in neuroscience or clinical research, with a clear international focus.
Nick Yao Larsen receives DKK 2.97 million for his research project, ‘Dynamic neurodevelopment and explainable modelling of psychiatric risk in youth’.
Through this project, he will develop an AI framework that makes complex brain data more understandable and reproduceable. He will study why some young people with a familial risk of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder develop the illness, while others remain healthy.
The project begins on January 1, 2027.
