Visual Computing section had the annual VisionDay event at the Digital Tech Summit. Thank you for all participants for creating a great day. Check out the program and pictures

Visionday 1: Enter the World of Virtual and Augmented Reality

What do an increasing number of university researchers and technology-driven companies have in common? An interest in using VR and AR to simulate new realities, add information to the world, create engaging experiences and do research that would be impossible or very costly in the real world. At this session, we present selected research and industry cases, where VR or AR has been in focus as a scientific method, a research objective or experimental way of improving results.

Program:

Introduction: Jakob Andreas Bærentzen, associate professor, DTU
Scientific Talk: “DTU, what are we working on and how can that be used in the industry” Jakob Andreas Bærentzen , DTU
Scientific Talk: “Perspectives of using Virtual Reality for Movement Learning - the scientific work on KU and how high pressure situations at Rigshospitalet are trained using VR”,  Joanna Bergström, Associate Professor, KU
Business Talk/Scientific Talk:  “How you can train people using VR and save time and money”, Fei Yu, SDU, showcasing together with Danfoss
Business Talk: “Dalux presents augmentet reality and how they are working with researchers”, Bent Dalgaard, CTO, Dalux

VisionDay 2: AI and Images

The analysis of images has been a topic of research for more than 4 decades and the application ranges from industrial inspection to computer aided diagnostics. In the last decade, the field has exploded due to widespread use of cameras, the increase of computer power and the advent of novel machine learning approaches like deep learning. In this session, the frontiers of the use of IA on images from the industry and academia will be showcased. Finally, dealing with fairness and bias when using advanced IA in practice is discussed.

Program:

Scientific Talk:  "AI and Images", Anders B.  Dahl, Professor, Head of Section, DTU
Business Talk: “Clinical AI”, Liv Egnell, Clinical Operation Specialist, Radiobotics
Scientific Talk: “Efficient Image Annotation for AI”, Dimitrios Papadopoulos, Assistant Professor, DTU
Business Talk: “AI assisted sports tracking”, Fredrik Tuxen, CTO, Trackman
Business Talk: “The future of AI assisted histopathology”, Jeppe Thagaard, Head of AI, Visiopharm
Discussion, debate and summing up
