Allan Aasbjerg Nielsen, M.Sc. 1978, Department of
Electrophysics, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Ph.D. 1994,
Informatics an Mathematical Modelling (IMM), DTU. Since 2013
employed as Assiciate Professor with the Department of Applied
Mathematics and Computer Science. Worked at the Danish Defense
Research Establishment 1977-1978 and with energy conservation in
housing at the Thermal Insulation Laboratory, DTU 1978-1985.
1985-2001 he worked at the section for image analysis at IMM,
1995-2001 as a part time substitute for prorector, Professor Knut
Conradsen. 2001-2006 he worked as Associtate Professor with the
section for geoinformatics at IMM, 2007-2013 as Associate Professor
with the National Space Institute. In 2006 he spent a six months
sabbatical leave with the University of Oxford, Department of
Statistics and in 2012/2013 he spent three months as a Fellow with
the Earth Observation Center, German Aerospace Center (DLR). He has
worked on many national and international projecs on development,
implementation and application of statistical methods and remote
sensing/Earth observation in mineral exploration, mapping, geology,
agriculture, environmental monitoring, oceanography, geodesy and
security. These projecs have been funded by industry, the European
Union, Danida og the Danish National Research Councils.
