Summer Internships

The CUQI reserarch inititive will sponsor a few annual summer internships at DTU Compute, related to the overall topic of computational uncertainty quantification for inverse problems.

These internships allow master students a unique chance to build on their acquired skills, and to obtain experience with research in computational methods and applications of uncertain quantification to inverse problems in science and engineering.

Internships on other topics than uncertainty quantification and inverse problems will not be supported.

The duration of the internship is maximum 2 months, in the period of August and September 2022. We will sponsor travel to Denmark, travel insurance, and reasonable accommodation expenses near DTU.

CUQI Summer Internships 2022

We will select applicants based on their application letter, their background, and their motivation for obtaining an internship.  Applicants must be enrolled in a Master’s degree program, fluent in spoken and written English, and familiar with:

  • Numerical analysis, specifically linear algebra and numerical optimization.
  • Mathematical modeling and simulation.
  • Inverse problems and/or Bayesian inference/inversion.
  • Programming in Matlab or Python.

Your application must be in the form of a single pdf file, in which you must include:

  • Your background (courses, projects, etc.) and how it is relevant to the project.
  • Your expectations and why you would like to do a summer internship with CUQI.
  • Documentation of your courses and grades.

Your application for a CUQI summer internship must be sent to Associate Professor Yiqiu Dong no later than June 15, 2022.
