The European Study Group with Industry, ESGI, is an annual event hosted by DTU and the University of Southern Denmark by turns.
During the five-day workshop the mathematics researchers work on mathematical assignments proposed by industry.
Study groups
The first four days of the workshop, the mathematicians work in groups together with their respective company representatives. On the last day, the researchers present their results for the rest of the participants.
At the latest two months after the workshop, the participants will receive the final report on the results.
Industry cooperation
For a very modest sum, our industrial partners get access to a highly qualified ‘think tank’ of mathematicians focusing on their specific research problems.
The companies attending establish useful contacts with international mathematics researchers. Furthermore, industry cooperation inspires the researchers to develop new educational as well as research activities.
