SIAM Fellows Class of 2015 includes 31 noteworthy professionals who have made significant contributions to the fields of applied mathematics and computational science.

Professor Per Christian Hansen from the section for Scientific Computing has been selected as a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), for his contributions to algorithms for rank-deficient and discrete ill-posed problems and regularization techniques.

Per Christian Hansen has worked with numerical regularization algorithms for 30 years, has published 90+ papers in leading journals, and his books on numerical methods for inverse problems are widely used. He has developed several related software packages, of which Regularization Tools is a popular toolbox for analysis and solution of discrete inverse problems. His h-index is 41 according to Google Scholar.

In 2012 he was awarded a 16 Mill. DKK research grant from the European Research Council for the project High-Definition Tomography. His current teaching and research involves algorithms for tomographic reconstruction and iterative imaging algorithms.
