Ph.d.-seminar: Knowledge Sharing by Peter Holdt Christensen

Abstract:

Doing research is very much about sharing knowledge. As a researcher you should care about, and engage in, seeking and giving advice. It not only benefits you, but also your research and your research unit. Knowledge sharing is, however, cumbersome, and in this session I invite you to help me analyze why knowledge sharing is challenging, and how you and your research unit can facilitate knowlege sharing. In particular, I focus on questions such as: how does envy prevent knowledge sharing, how does being located in the same office space prevent the creation of new knowledge, and does occasionally working from home influence knowledge sharing.
