Scientific computing section of DTU Compute

Section for Scientific Computing

Scientific Computing is the science of using computers and mathematics to solve problems from science and engineering.

The solution of today’s challenging problems in society and science requires sophisticated mathematical methods and computational algorithms as well as the use of modern computer architectures.

The section’s expertise includes many of the aspects of Scientific Computing - from the modeling of physical phenomena to designing, analyzing, and implementing the methodology for the solution of real-life problems.

The research in the Scientific Computing focuses on:

Examples of applications include:

  • Oil and gas exploration
  • Control and optimization of energy systems
  • Insulin control technology
  • Tomography and imaging
  • Computational structural biology

The section is located at The Technical University of Denmark (DTU), building 303B, 1st floor
