Research Academy, DTU Compute PhD School and Open Entrepreneurship invites you to a half day workshop on March 8

How entrepreneurship can enable you as a researcher

Entrepreneurship and commercialization are mentioned more and more within the university. But how does this relate to researcher and the individual researcher?

Entrepreneurship is obviously important if you plan to start your own company, pursue a career in industry, or develop innovative products. However, understanding entrepreneurship can help you greatly to communicate your research and when applying for grants and positions, considering new research directions, and validating your research.

To help you become better at entrepreneurship and thinking strategically, we have invited the team behind the new initiative, Open Entrepreneurship; Jes Broeng (Professor and serial entrepreneur), Michael Holbech (Master in Physics and Computer Science and prev. Head of IT Innovation at Delta) and Julie Rømer (Business and Psychology and Master thesis on Blockchain).

The goal of the workshop is to provide practical tools to communicate and commercialize your research. The workshop is target for young researchers (at senior PhD student/post doc/assistant professor, recent associate professor) both with and without experience in entrepreneurship. The workshop is organized by the Research Academy, the PhD School, and Mark Riis, mberi@dtud.dk

Please register (coffee and lunch are included) for the workshop at Pia Lauridsen, plau@dtu.dk no later than February 8th. It is also possible to submit examples or cases from your research. We will then use your own examples for our talks. Please contact, Michael Holbech on miholb@fotonik.dtu.dk before February 8th.

Determining who are the "young researchers" at DTU Compute is non-trivial so please forward this mail to any potentially interested colleague.

Please prepare to the workshop by thinking about how you could potentially convert one or two ideas from your research into a business. See detailed program and information below.
