PhD school seminar by Mark Harvey Simpson: Project management

Managing a PhD

In this two-hour workshop, Mark Harvey Simpson, senior consultant, will share ideas and tools for project management that support you in managing your PhD.

You will be invited to share your experience of what can go right and wrong when managing a PhD project.

Mark will share some tips and project management tools that address the following:

  • goal-setting
  • common challenges
  • planning tools that fit the cycle of a PhD
  • risk mitigation
  • time management and productivity
  • stakeholder analysis
The workshop introduces basic concepts of project management, and provides participants with questions they must ask and answer to complete their PhD projects. And Mark believes we should have fun while doing so – so we will.

Mark Harvey Simpson M.Sc. is a senior consultant at GlobalDenmark A/S. For 30 years, Mark and his colleagues have trained researchers and business people in communication techniques that help them manage their projects.
