Big Data Hackathon 2014

Sign up for the 2014 Big Data Hackathon to win your share of a DKK 55,000 prize pool.

Registration is open to all university students with an interest in business development, data, IT, and apps. The Hackathon takes place in the newly opened DTU Skylab, Lyngby Campus.

At the hackathon you will have the opportunity to:

  • develop Big Data solutions to real society challenges, using specific data—for example within the environment, energy, traffic and citizen and business affairs
  • get hands-on experience with IBM Bluemix ™—one of the latest Big Data tools
  • present your solution to a panel of judges representing a wide range of Danish businesses
  • win a prize for the best solution, presented with much attention from the media and top Danish companies, at the international Big Data conference at Industriens Hus on 20 November 2014
  • be considered for Climate-KIC Nordic's accelerator programme with the possibility of coaching as well as funding of up to EUR 95,000

Prizes and sponsors

  • 1st prize: DKK 25,000, 2nd prize: DKK 15,000 and 3rd prize: DKK 5,000 (sponsor: Danske Bank).
  • Special prize of DKK 10,000 for project with special climate solution focus (sponsor: Climate-KIC Nordic).
